So, last year, I was looking for the taste of mulled wine and the scent of Christmas in a single, simple cocktail. After a little thought and a little bit of tinkering, I came up with what I was looking for: A Christmas Spirit.
- 2 oz ruby port
- 1 oz brandy
- 1 oz lemon
- 1/2 oz allspice dram
- 1/2 oz Cointreau
Combine and shake with a couple of ice cubes.
Garnish with a bruised sprig or rosemary.
Now listen closely… Don’t Skip the Rosemary! It’s more aromatic than taste, but it’s important to the final effect.
